Research and Development Chef
Stewart Lane, Research & Development Chef, is a native of Kansas City, MO. He holds a degree from Kansas State University in Hotel and Restaurant Management.
He’s worked in the family catering business, Lon Lane’s Inspired Occasions, since he was five years old. As a seasoned pro, in the world of off premises catering, he has served in the kitchen, in the field, and behind the scenes producing events both locally and throughout the United States.
Stewart studied abroad at the Apicius Culinary Center in Florence Italy during his 2006 fall semester, where he was instructed in Italian cuisine, breads, and regional wines. In 2008 he traveled to Beijing, China to take his role as Supervisory Chef for the USA House where he oversaw thirty chefs from around the USA and several from Beijing.
In 2012 he became Inspired Occasions head of Research & Development. In addition to new foods and presentations, Stewart has created an organic garden to use for ultra-fresh food preparation. Stewart’s blog, Culinary R & D, chronicles new and exciting creations for implementation in the company menus.
